A total number of 60 samples of water leaf were collected from different areas in Enugu Metropolis, these samples were inoculated and examined to detect the presence of sorbitol negative Escherichia coli 0157:H7. About 35(17.5%) samples out of the 50 samples inoculated were found to be sorbitol negative E-coli. From the result E-coli 0157:H7 is the predominant serotype accounting for 90% of all VTEC isolates.
